It’s July and activity has picked up!

PRG: Jean came across a U turn false crawl just north of SS#2

Michael, out for a predawn run, found a very short U turn false crawl just north of SS#4. By the time he turned around at the groin and returned, the crawl was gone. Fortunately, he had taken the GPS:)

DEB: Carolyn was joined by a tenacious Judy M. who has been working hard toward certification:) They found a crawl just south WW#8 snug up above the wrack near the sand fencing. Betsy met them to observe Judy and she wasted no time zeroing in on the chamber…YAY Judy!!

DEB58 Natural  15 yds. south WW#8

HOB: Pat S., hoping for her first nest of the season, joined Wendy this morning and got her wish! Immediately, just south of SS#0 in the river area, they found a crawl with good potential. After checking the rest of HOB, they returned for Pat to probe and locate the egg chamber:) Working together, they relocated 111 eggs (+ 1 for DNA). Great effort!

HOB13 Relocated just south SS#0

7-1-23 Jean found one of 2 false crawls on PRG this morning. Maybe this turtle will be successful tonight:)
7-1-23 Judy M. easily located the egg chamber of DEB58 just south WW#8.

7-1-23 Wendy and Pat S. found this crawl with nest potential just south of SS#0 on Hobcaw.
7-1-23 Because the nest was laid in a low area prone to flooding, Wendy and Pat relocated the clutch of eggs higher and drier!
