Martha and Debbie did an inventory of a nest laid on the backside of a steep dune down on Hobcaw. We put up a black landscape material surround to prohibit the hatchlings from going into the marsh. The nest did pretty well considering the efforts the hatchlings had to make to get to the ocean. It had a respectable 75% hatch success with 26 healthy turtles found still in the nest! Martha and Debbie collected them in a bucket and carried them to the beach for release. They all made it quickly to their new watery home!
