Wilson’s plover

Shorebirds in the news: Saturday morning 5/26, the Charleston Post & Courier featured a front page story about the dangers nesting shorebirds face when the summer beach traffic arrives. These birds, particularly Wilson’s plovers and American oystercatchers, nest on the sand around inlets between the high tide and dune grasses. It is so important to the survival of these eggs that people not go up in these areas or allow their dogs to scare these birds off their nests.  Please read this article:
