Loggerhead nesting in South Carolina officially began on Wednesday, May 5 with the first nest laid on Seabrook Island. Since then there have been 2 more, Waites Island and Botany Bay Island. There have been numerous reports here at DeBordieu & Hobcaw of loggerheads seen in the creeks and ocean. Nesting here is imminent and SCUTE volunteers are mobilizing to start on Monday, May 10.
